Manager Marketing, Communications & Events

Your role as Manager Marketing, Communications & Events

As the Manager Marcom and Events, you are both manager and expert in your field. You have a passion for marketing communications and events and the creative brainpower to optimize how we engage with our NWP-members and our stakeholders through both marketing and communications plus its related services. You are an innovative, and commercially and conceptually strong leader. You can empower your team members and seek cooperation with other departments to achieve optimal results. As a team manager, you enable personal and professional growth. You combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic can-do mentality.

Especially in the current reality of COVID-19, online communication is even more important to achieve our goals as part of the NWP strategy and our program-activities. Detecting and implementing the most effective and relevant marketing communication tools such as online marketing activities and campaigns, publications, press releases, propositions etc. is part of your job. You monitor our brand and improve brand awareness.

Business Relationship Management is an additional responsibility of the Manager MarCom and Events. We believe that understanding our members, know their ambitions and maintain good relationships with them asks for clear communications and hence is positioned within the MarCom & Events team with the Business Relationship Manager.

Besides working from home or when possible at our office - next to the central railway station in The Hague - you participate in network events and visit our members.

About the job

• You lead the Marketing, Communications and Events team (8px) into the future. This means you inspire with innovations and (commercial) opportunities;
• You help structurize the work and team so that each team member can work from their strengths to create the most value for NWP and her members;
• Based on the needs of our members and stakeholders, you create a marketing strategy to strengthen the brand, help communicate our products and services, and help generate leads for the Dutch water sector;
• You propose long-term strategic goals and identify business opportunities from a Marketing, Communications and Events perspective;
• You initiate and execute strategic campaigns and are not shy about using an effective mix of traditional, modern and innovative marketing communication means;
• You work closely together with the Business Relationship Manager in building and maintaining our member relations, grow our understanding of their ambitions and facilitate matchmaking between them and their potential clients;
• You are part of the management team and together with them, play a key part in steering the organisation.

What we ask

• Higher education (Bachelor or Master) in marketing, communications or commercial economics;
• You know your way around content marketing, online communication, event marketing and corporate branding;
• You have extensive experience in general management;
• You have experience with networking and maintaining business or member relations, or account management;
• You have a clear understanding and vision for promoting the Dutch water sector abroad;
• You have experience in organisations in transition and know a thing or two about change management;
• You have at least ten years of experience in working on projects in a public and private environment. International and/or water experience is a strong advantage;
• You are a strong advisor and know how to hold your own in strategic discussions;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language is required;
• You are comfortable with business, NGO and G2G communication;
• Competencies are network, people and result oriented; commercial; business-minded; proactive; structured (organizing and coordinating skills) and accurate.
